Discord emoji size: emoji, stickers and server icons
Discord accepts most pictures as emoji, but it shrinks them to fit and rejects files over the limit. Making them at the right size first keeps them sharp.
Make emoji, stickers and emotes at the right sizesThe sizes
- Custom emoji: 128 × 128 pixels, under 256 KB, PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP. Names need at least two letters, numbers or underscores.
- Stickers: 320 × 320 pixels, under 512 KB, PNG, APNG or GIF.
- Server icon: square, at least 512 × 512.
- Twitch emotes, for comparison: 112, 56 and 28 pixels square.
Getting them sharp
Crop to a square before scaling, so the face or the logo fills the frame; leave a transparent margin if the edges would be cut. An emoji is seen at 22 pixels in chat, so bold shapes beat detail.
FAQ
Why is my emoji blurry on Discord?
It was not square or much larger than 128 pixels, and Discord scaled it. Export it at 128 × 128.
How many emoji can a server have?
