CS2 crosshair codes: the new format, and how to bring an old one over

CS2 shares crosshairs as a code. Since the update of 30 September 2026 that code starts with CS and has no dashes; the older CSGO-xxxxx-xxxxx codes are no longer accepted when you import.

Importing a crosshair code in CS2

  • Open Settings → Game → Crosshair.
  • Choose the option to share or import a crosshair.
  • Paste the CS… code and apply.

What changed in the new codes

Sizes are stored in pixels at the screen height the crosshair was made on, and scaled to yours, so a crosshair looks the same at 1080p and 1440p. The new format also stores the outline colour, the scope dot and a negative gap.

Bringing an old CSGO- code over

Paste the old code into KIVO's crosshair studio: it reads the old layout and writes the same crosshair as a new CS… code. If you prefer, copy the console commands instead — cl_crosshairsize, cl_crosshairgap, cl_crosshaircolor_r and the rest — and paste them in the console.

FAQ

Why does CS2 say my crosshair code is invalid?

It is probably an old CSGO-xxxxx code. Convert it to the new CS… format, or apply it with console commands.

Can I use a Valorant crosshair in CS2?

Yes, as a close match: the studio converts between the two, matching sizes at 1080p.
