My file doesn't work
Drop the file that won't open. KIVO inspects it and explains what's wrong in plain language — then repairs it when it can.

What KIVO checks
- Structure, page count, encryption and truncation damage.
- JSON
- Syntax errors — and automatic repair of trailing commas, comments, single quotes and BOMs.
- CSV
- Delimiter detection, ragged rows, duplicate headers, byte-order marks.
- Images
- Decodability, dimensions, and the HEIC compatibility trap.
- Any file
- Real format from its signature, so a mislabelled extension gets caught.
Frequently asked questions
- Why does my file open on one computer but not another?
- Usually the extension doesn't match the real format, or it's a HEIC photo. KIVO checks the file's actual signature, so it catches both.
- Can KIVO recover a badly corrupted file?
- Sometimes. Structural JSON and CSV problems are often repairable. A truncated PDF or image is genuinely missing data — no tool can invent it back.
