What it does

Frequently asked questions
- Is the file signed?
- No. A P7M signature needs a qualified certificate on a smart card, which is a legal instrument rather than a feature. An invoice to a private company (FPR12) does not need one; an invoice to the public administration does, and your intermediary or the Agenzia delle Entrate portal will apply it.
- How do I actually send it?
- Upload the file wherever you already send invoices — the Fatture e Corrispettivi portal, your accountant's software, or your intermediary. This tool writes the file; it does not transmit anything.
- What if SDI rejects it?
- The most common causes are checked before you download: a partita IVA whose check digit doesn't add up, a missing codice destinatario or PEC, and a zero-VAT line with no natura code. Anything beyond that is about your specific tax position, and your accountant is the right person to ask.
